Korea Now VIP Reception 2023

It was an honour to emcee the 2023 “Korea Now” evening event at the V&A Museum for the Korea Tourism Organisation. The event commemorated the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UK & Korea, as well as ‘Visit Korea Year’ 2023-2024. We also celebrated the V&A’s “Korean Wave” exhibition, a vibrant collection of Korean pop culture from past to present.

Highlights included…

• Introducing VIP speakers such as Yoon Yeo-Cheol, Korean Ambassador to the UK, and footballer Son-Heung Min (you might’ve heard of him – the other Korean national treasure residing in the UK!)
• Hearing all the latest updates in Korean tourism, from expert speakers I introduced to the stage. There are some fantastic initiatives happening, including the development of a ‘work-cation’ visa that will allow digital nomads to live in Korea for up to 2 years.
• I had my Korean Oprah moment when announcing that everyone had a Korean traditional hat on their seats to take home.
• Enjoying the work of incredible musicians and media artists who came all the way from Korea to celebrate and showcase with us!
